Fernando Rebeles moved to Toronto from Mexico in 2011. He studied Public Relations with a minor in Media at the U of T. Passionate about the social work, multiculturism and media relations, the move to North America was a natural fit for him. With encouragement from friends and neighbors, Fernando started to work at The Spot Youth Centre in 2014 as a Youth Resource Promoter. In his free time, Fernando enjoys the outdoors, exploring the city, and promoting cultural events.
“Working at The Spot has given me a great opportunity to share my experiences as newcomer coming to Toronto, and through my work, I’m able to help others who were once in my position as newcomer immigrant. It’s important for me that youth feel welcomed at The Spot in the same way that I was received when I first arrived.”
