Rajini is a knowledgeable and experienced Settlement Worker at Jane/Finch Community Family Centre, who is fluent in Tamil, Sinhala and English. Her role at the Centre has allowed her to work in different capacities such as addressing issues of poverty, social justice, immigration, housing, financial assistance, domestic violence, newcomer settlement counselling, women empowerment and community engagement.
In Sri-Lanka, Rajini worked with the National Poverty Alleviation Authority, where she played a major role in income generating projects to assist rural women with training and marketing. She is passionate about her work in the community and her ability to mobilize diverse groups.
Rajini holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBAD) from the of University of Jaffna, Sri-Lanka; a Diploma in Marketing from the Sri-Lanka Institute of Marketing; and a Post-graduate diploma in Financial and Business Administration from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri-Lanka. She is also a certified professional Marketer from Asia Pacific Marketing Federation (APMF) – Singapore. Since moving to Canada, Rajini has earned her certificate in Psychosocial Rehabilitation from Humber College and an Addiction & Mental Health certificate form George Brown College.
Rajini is very passionate about ensuring that victims of domestic violence and people experiencing homelessness are able to access the services they need. Through her work, she strives to bring more awareness to immigrant populations to help them overcome anti-racism and anti-discrimination in an assertive way.
