YOUTH PROGRAMS

Our youth programs at the Jane/Finch Centre support youth 12-29 years old in the Jane-Finch/Black Creek communities in optimizing their personal, social and educational competency in order to achieve their full potential, ultimately reducing the effects of poverty.

Our youth team provides group programming, recreational programming and one-on-one support.

The Spot Youth Centre

The Spot Youth Centre is a safe and accessible space for youth ages 13-29 and is located in the Yorkgate Mall.

The Spot was created to support vulnerable youth to optimize their personal, social, and educational competency in order to achieve their full potential, ultimately reducing the effects of poverty.

The Spot offers youth-centred programming designed to promote the overall health of youth by building on their strengths.

Sex Trafficking Prevention Group (STPG)

The Sex Trafficking Prevention Group (STPG) is a youth-led project committed to preventing human trafficking within the Jane and Finch community. STPG is run by young, Black women from the Jane-Finch community who wanted to create resources for youth, by youth.

Their primary mission is to empower and educate young people who may be vulnerable to the threat of human trafficking.

STPG actively engages with local schools to conduct informative workshops that serve as a platform to raise awareness, provide valuable knowledge, and offer essential resources for those in need.

Visit the project’s website to access their youth toolkit, or follow them on Instagram to learn more.
