FINANCIAL EMPOWERMENT AND Problem-SOLVING (FEPS)

Our Financial Empowerment and Problem-Solving program (FEPS) works with individuals living on low-incomes to increase their understanding and control of their finances.

We provide key information and solutions to complex financial challenges for people facing immediate financial difficulty. We support residents in making informed decisions and appropriate long-term plans to deal with debt and saving, while providing them with knowledge around income boosting benefits. In collaboration with other non-profit community organizations, we play an active role in identifying financial policy issues that adversely affect individuals living on low incomes.

We aim to facilitate positive change in these policies and regulations by developing new tools, policy alternatives and through advocacy initiatives.

WE CAN HELP YOU WITH:

  • Addressing debt problems

  • Accessing social assistance or other social supports, like ODSP

  • Filing tax returns

  • Banking services

  • Savings

  • Avoiding scams or financial frauds

  • Advocacy for financial issues

  • Creating a budget

  • Applying for post-secondary education
