Every year during the holiday season, the Jane/Finch Centre runs the Adopt-A-Family Program, which allows donors the opportunity to sponsor a family in Jane-Finch during the holiday season.

Donors will support families by providing them with various items including gift cards, toiletries, household items, children's gifts, winter clothing and more. This program is open to individual donors as well as corporate sponsors.

There are two ways you can support a family in our community this year:

(1) Adopt-A-Family or (2) make a donation.

Adopt-A-Family

Register as a sponsor to provide a family in Jane-Finch with a one-time customized Christmas package.

There are three ways you can sponsor a family:

  1. Family Shopper Program: Sponsors will be provided with information to go shopping for their adopted family and deliver the gifts directly to the Jane/Finch Centre. We will organize item pick-ups with the families. We ask that no used items are given and items have gift receipts where possible.

  2. Gift Card Sponsorship: Ideal for sponsors who want to participate in the program but do not have the time to shop on their own. This also provides parents of the families with the opportunity to shop for their children on their own.

  3. Financial Sponsorship: Through this option, sponsors will provide a financial donation in lieu of gifts or a gift card. Our Jane/Finch Centre volunteers will shop for the family on behalf of the sponsor using the funds donated to their adopted family.

Family Sizes and Cost

Donors have the option to choose which size family they would like to sponsor.

  • Small family: 1-3 family members ($350-$450 minimum)

  • Medium family: 4-5 family members ($450-$750 minimum)

  • Large family: 6+ family members ($750-$1000 minimum)

Please register by November 30th, 2023.

Make a Donation

Even if you’re unable to Adopt-A-Family this holiday season, your contribution is still needed. Additional funds raised will allow us to support more families in our community.

Use the donation form below to make a donation to our Adopt-A-Family program. Donations over $10 will receive a tax receipt.
