The Jane/Finch Centre extends our deepest condolences to the loved ones of Adu Boakye, a recent newcomer to Canada, who tragically lost their life in a shooting incident at Jane Street and Driftwood. Our thoughts are also with the 16-year-old youth critically injured that same weekend.

September 30th is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day to reflect upon the intergenerational harm caused by residential schools and the on-going impact of settler colonialism in this country.

The Jane/Finch Centre wholeheartedly stands in solidarity with our 2SLGBTQ+, transgender and gender-diverse community members, and is committed to providing safe, identity-affirming spaces for every youth and individual in our community.
