Happy Pride Month from the Jane/Finch Centre!

This month is dedicated to 2SLGBTQ+ joy, visibility, and resistance. It’s a time to honour the powerful legacy of Black trans women, queer resistance, and community organizing in the face of systemic violence and ongoing repression.

Across Canada and beyond, we continue to witness coordinated attacks on 2SLGBTQ+ rights. These actions are a reminder of the critical work that still lies ahead to ensure safety, dignity, and justice for 2SLGBTQ+ folks everywhere, including in our own community. 

At the Jane/Finch Centre, we’re proud to serve a diverse community that includes people of all sexual orientations and gender identities. We are committed to creating and sustaining safe, inclusive, and identity-affirming spaces for 2SLGBTQ+, transgender, and non-binary residents. 

We value and appreciate the past and present labour of 2SLGBTQ+ communities in creating safe and inclusive spaces that have fostered positive cultural movements and icons, impacting countless communities and vulnerable folks.

We’re proud to partner with a variety of organizations, grassroots groups and local leaders that directly support 2SLGBTQ+, transgender, and non-binary folks from across the GTA. Throughout the month, we’ll be doing weekly spotlights to highlight their incredible work on our social media accounts. Stay tuned!
